It is my pleasure to wish all the stakeholders of Bakhresa Group a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.

I am proud to announce that one of our Group Company M/S Bakhresa Food Products Limited has emerged as the overall winner during the year 2010 Presidential Manufacturers Awards in the large sized category in Food Processing Sub-Sector. The trophy was awarded by His Excellency the President of Tanzania.

On behalf of the Bakhresa Group, I place on record our humble appreciation for the continued support of all the stake-holders.

The “Azam” brand has been recognized as the most popular brand in Tanzania and has been voted as “Tanzania’s Number 1 Consumer Brand”.

These recognitions give us the strength and the support to put more and more efforts to satisfy the ever growing needs of our valued customers.

I am delighted to inform that we have successfully commissioned the 150 m.t per day capacity fruit processing plant and it is now running in full swing. We are purchasing the locally grown mangoes, pine apples, oranges and guavas to process and pack them in smaller packs.

We have doubled our wheat milling capacity in Malawi to 500 m.t per day. The expansion of our Uganda wheat mill is going on in full swing and shall be commissioned during the first quarter of 2011. The construction work of the new wheat mills in Rwanda, Mozambique and Burundi are going on. The Rwanda Mill is likely to be commissioned during the first quarter of the year 2011 and the Mozambique and Burundi Mills are likely to be commissioned during the last quarter. The wheat mill in Zanzibar is getting renovated and shall be ready to resume production soon.

The Bakhresa Group has undertaken a pilot project for growing wheat in Malawi. The result of the pilot project is quite encouraging. We shall be undertaking similar pilot projects in the ensuing years in Malawi and Rwanda.

I am glad to inform that we are setting up a carbonated soft drink plant in Dar Es Salaam. We are likely to launch the products during the second quarter of the year 2011. It is our constant endeavor to supply quality products at affordable price.

As always, we set new targets for ourselves every year and it gives us satisfaction when we achieve those targets. All these are possible due to the blessings of the almighty and your continued support.
